Privacy & Cookies
Last updated 18 June 2026
timeuntilchristmas.com is a free, just-for-fun Christmas countdown run by Reece Chown. This page explains what (very little) data the site handles and how cookies are used.
The short version
There are no accounts, no sign-ups and no contact forms. We don’t collect your name, email or any personal details. The only data processing is anonymous, aggregate usage analytics — explained below.
Analytics & cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit and which tools are popular, so we can keep improving the site.
- By default it’s cookieless. Using Google Consent Mode, analytics runs without storing any cookies on your device. It measures anonymous, aggregate activity such as page views, and is active for everyone — this is our legitimate interest in understanding traffic.
- If you tap “Accept” on the cookie banner, we enable standard Google Analytics cookies for more accurate measurement. This only happens with your consent.
- If you tap “Decline”, analytics stays cookieless. You can change your mind any time with .
We use no advertising cookies and no cross-site ad tracking. Google processes analytics data as described in Google’s privacy policy.
Preferences stored on your device
The site saves two small preferences in your browser’s local storage — whether you’ve turned snow on or off, and your cookie-consent choice. These stay on your device, aren’t personal data, and are never sent to us or anyone else.
Your rights (UK GDPR)
Because we don’t hold any personal data about you, there’s nothing for us to access, export or delete. You can withdraw analytics consent at any time via Cookie settings. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
